In 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to perform at the Chopin in Cyprus International Concerto Competition. It was an unforgettable experience—not only because I was honored with Second Place and the Best Chopin Concerto No. 1 Performance Award, but also because of the personal journey leading up to that moment.
Performing Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11 has always felt deeply meaningful to me. On stage, I wasn’t just thinking about technique—I wanted to express the emotions, the lyrical phrasing, and the poetry I feel in the music. When the jury and audience responded so warmly, I felt a true connection through the music.
This concerto has a special place in my heart. Its sweeping melodies and dramatic contrasts constantly challenge me to balance technical precision with heartfelt expression. Preparing and performing it reminded me why I love the piano and how powerful music can be in reaching people’s hearts.
Looking back, this competition wasn’t only about receiving awards. It was about growth, self-discovery, and the joy of sharing music with others. I’m so grateful for my teachers, family, and friends who supported me along the way, and I’m excited for the next chapter in my musical journey.
